On November 3, 2013 Consul General of Ukraine in San Francisco Sergey Aloshyn took part in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Kyiv from Nazi occupation and the 70th anniversary of the beginning of Ukraine’s liberation from the Nazi invasion. The celebration was organized by the Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco and the San Jose Association of World War II and Labor Veterans.
In his speech, the Consul General noted the significant contribution of the Ukrainian people in gaining the victory over fascism, focused the audience’s attention on the causes of scale and cruelty of war on the territory of Ukraine and expressed sincere gratitude to the WWII veterans for the reclaimed right to live in an independent state, which steadily builds a European perspective.
