On 11 April, 2014 Consul General of Ukraine in San Francisco Sergiy Aloshyn and consular officers participated in a roundtable on the situation in Ukraine, organized by the Stanford University.
Speakers at this scientific event were: Professor of the Arizona State University Mark von Hagen, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the United Nations Vlad Lupan and Associate Professor of the Lviv Ivan Franko National University Yaroslav Prytula. Former U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul (2011-2014 years), who has been continuing to work as Professor at the Stanford University, also took part in this roundtable.
During the roundtable, experts highlighted the historical background of the emergence of the current difficult political situation in Ukraine and criticized the aggressive Russian actions related to annexation of Crimea as well as the organization of anti-state riot among the people in the South-Eastern regions of Ukraine.
During the event there was an exchange of views on the possible future development of the situation in our country and the measures, which should be taken by the leadership of Ukraine in order to achieve stability of internal policy and effective resistance to the provocative aggressive actions of the Putin’s regime.
