On January 10, 2023, the Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco organized the Ukrainian Technology Start-up Showcase networking event with the participation of 8 Ukrainian hardware startups. The Ukrainian entrepreneurs presented a number of cutting-edge products to venture investors, ranging from environmentally friendly coffee grounds-based cups to solutions for emergency medical situations. The event was co-organized by the US Commercial Service and Nixon Peabody LLP.
While opening the event, the Consul General of Ukraine in San Francisco Dmytro Kushneruk emphasized that the Ukrainian economy is in better shape than was predicted at the beginning of the full-scale war due to the continued export of goods and services from Ukraine, trust in Ukrainian companies and support from their customers.
"The clients of our companies in the USA and around the world value the deep level of knowledge of Ukrainian tech professionals, creativity, and open-mindedness of Ukrainians. I am sure, that these meetings and these mutual efforts will benefit both Ukrainian and American tech ecosystems. And will help to bring bright Ukrainian ideas to the global market," – said the Ukrainian diplomat.
The Ukrainian Technology Start-up Showcase was held as part of the Ukrainian startups’ visit to CES2023, one of the world's largest consumer electronics exhibitions. The co-organizers of the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to the US are the Ukrainian Startup Fund and the Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (CEP), Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF), Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) initiative and Techukraine.
