Diplomats organized a networking meeting of 10 Ukrainian startups and VCs in San Francisco

On October 19, 2022, the Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco organized the Ukrainian Tech Night networking event with the participation of Ukrainian startups and representatives of the US tech VCs.

Dmytro Kushneruk, the Consul General of Ukraine in San Francisco, emphasized that investment is the best support one may provide to Ukraine today. "The Consulate General is strengthening its economic focus and organizing the Ukrainian Tech Night for direct communication between startups and investors. Ukraine is rich in talent. A mix of Ukrainian tech engineers’ creativity and the financial capabilities of Silicon Valley creates a unique chance to both build rapidly growing businesses and support the Ukrainian economy."

During the event, a panel discussion "Building Ukraine's Tech Ecosystem of Tomorrow" was held with the participation of Oleksandr Bornyakov, the Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Oleksandr Hryban, the Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Vitaliy Goncharuk, Augmented Pixels CEO and Founder, Eugene Malobrodsky, Partner at One Way Ventures, Viktoriya Tigipko, TA Ventures Founder and Managing Partner, and Denys Zhadanov, Readdle Inc. Co-founder. The discussion was moderated by Mike Butcher, editor-at-large of TechCrunch.

The participants discussed the problems and opportunities caused by Russia's war against Ukraine. In particular, military technologies and drones, image recognition using artificial intelligence, food technologies, digital health care, etc. were named among the promising tech industries for investments in Ukraine.

Ukrainian Tech Night is a side-event of the visit of Ukrainian startups to Silicon Valley. They represented Ukraine’s dynamic tech industry at one of the world’s largest startup events - TechCrunch Disrupt 2022 bringing together more than 10,000 industry professionals from 125 countries. Ukrainian startups presented at TechCrunch Disrupt 2022:

 Numo ADHD is a program for gamification and task management.

 Zeeon is a metauniverse for public conversations and coworking.

 Vanongo is a "last mile" logistics platform based on artificial intelligence.

 The co-organizers of the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to the USA are Ukrainian Startup Fund and Ukrainian Bridge. The visit was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, and the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine.
