On May 29, 2018, a flashmob with participants of the "Chumak Way to North America" bike ride took place near the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco. This project is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA.

The Consulate General of Ukraine in San Francisco assisted the project participants in organizing and planning a bike ride along the US Western Coast, in particular in the California, Oregon and Washington states. In this regard, the diplomatic post helped establish contact with representatives of Ukrainian NGOs and organize mass events with the Ukrainian diaspora.

Consul General of Ukraine in San Francisco Sergiy Aloshyn thanked the participants of the bike ride for their efforts to ensure the United States support to our state in increasing political pressure on Russia in order to release Ukrainian political prisoners who are illegally detained by Russia, dissemination of objective information on systemic and large-scale violations of human rights in the Crimea and temporarily occupied territories in certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, as well as counteracting the large-scale information warfare conducted by Russia against our country.
